Preparation

A week ago, I knew I'd be in France by May 22. Now I'll be there on May 10th! Ahhh so much to do and so very little time! Finals aren't even over! Finals haven't even begun for Christine and she's coming too!

Let me catch you up:
  1. I'm a college student double majoring in biochemistry and French
  2. I'm studying abroad in Paris this summer.
  3. The program is from May 22nd to June 25th
  4. I will be taking a French course and an art class
  5. I've convinced my best friend, Christine, to come see France with me before my program starts. We'll start in Paris so Christine can see the Eiffel Tower, the Arch de Triomphe and Versailles, palace of the sun king. Then we'll travel to Barritz in southern France to stay with my grandfather's friend, Annie. An excursion into Spain will occur also.
  6. This experience is going to be a dream come true :)
The plane tickets need to be purchased, the hotel reservations need to be made, there's a French placement exam I need to take, a computer case needs to be found and bought, and the list goes on forever! I'm doing my best to not freak out. It's a good thing my favorite thing is to cross thing off of to-do lists. Needless to say, I am beyond excited to be going to France after all these years of French class (7 to be exact,) especially with my best friend!

I was planning on chronicling my adventures in a journal, but I want to share my travels with my friends and family, so voila, this blog was born!

And just FYI, if French slips into these blogs, don't be surprised. The beautiful language already slips into my fb posts, my sayings (my entire family knows hello, goodby and thanks b/c me,) even my very thoughts. Just wait until I'm in a French speaking country! I do my best to make my French understandable though. For example, the translation of this blog's title is unmistakably "My adventures in France."

  1. Wow! What an opportunity! I was in Paris for a week for work once. I didn't get to see the sites, but I did have my fair share of espresso and was able to see the Mona Lisa. Enjoy your trip!
